In Bruges

In this post I would like to recommend a film. Maybe you have seen it, or heard about it. It’s called ‘In Bruges’, though in our country this title was translated as ‘Escondidos en Brujas’. It’s a black comedy set in Bruges, a medieval city located in the northwest of Belgium. Written and directed by Martin McDonagh, it stars Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes.

The movie begins when two hitmen (Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson), are sent by their boss (Ralph Fiennes) to Bruges, where they are supposed to wait for orders. But their next job will not be a usual one, and both men will have to take some difficult decisions that could put their lives at risk. That is all I can tell you about the plot without spoiling it for you.

The setting of Bruges is really impressive and the movie is filmed in way that will allow you to appreciate the beauty of this quaint, traditional city. The film is quite long, but its witty dialogues, constant plot twists and rising tension will keep you on the edge of your seat right up to the end.
